customized gifts for her DIY Christmas Reindeer Sign pillow covers farmhouse

Hey y'all! I love so many things about Christmas. Mostly I love thefeeling of the Christmas season. Most people seem happier and more grateful than any time of the year–;I know I reflectmore on the many blessings in my life at Christmas than any other time of the year {don't worry, I am working on increasing it the rest of the year}. But I also love that Christmas is an awesome reason to create tons of fun DIY home decor projects! Woooo hoooo! Today I am going to show you how to make the most adorable DIY Christmas reindeer sign. It's quick and easy! This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

1) Clean your wood well with a properly mixed Simple Green solution. Then wipe it down one more time with plain water.

2) Paint your wood with theAmy Howard One Step Paint. Mine required one coat only because the wood was painted white to begin with. Bear in mind that a little bit of this paint goes a LONG way and it dries quickly.

3) Design and cut your text out using your cutting machine software. I have a Silhouette CAMEO, so I used Silhouette Studio. Just be sure to cut the word Rudolph separately after you switch your vinyl :)

4) “;Weed”; your design and then transfer your vinyl text to transfer paper.

5) Center the transfer paper on your wood board andrubyour scraping tool all over the surface of the transfer paper to ensure your vinyl letters adhere well to your wood. Then peel the transfer paper off slowly.

6) Apply a coat ofAmy Howard Light Antique Wax.

After the wax becomes tackycustomized gifts for her, apply a coat ofAmy Howard Dark Antique Wax.

You can check out the video below to see how to apply the waxes. It will play after a brief ad.

7) After your dark wax becomes tacky, apply the Dust of Ages. Simply brush it on and then buff it off. It adds a whole new layer of depth and character. I LOVE this stuff.

8) Now you are ready to attach the hanging hardware. I used two eye hooks and wrapped thin gauge wire around them. Super easy!

That's it! How CUTE is this DIY Christmas reindeer sign?! I absolutely adore it! Oh, and you can find all the details and tutorial for the DIY herringbone plank wall you see below here.

If you love this project as much as I do, be sure to pin it so you can find it later!

Merry Christmas! I can not believe that it’s in just 2 days! I’m feeling totally “off”this year and for some reason feel like I’ve still got a good month until Christmas Day. I think it’s because I don’t have little kids running around the house any more asking about Santa Claus every 5 minutes.?I’ve been busy sewing a few Christmas related items that I’ll be sure to share with you after Christmas. This will be my last post until the new year. ?I’m taking some time off to just relax with my family. Plus I moved my sewing room up 2?flights of stairs last week and it’s such a mess, I can’t even find a pair of scissors! I’ve got quite the New Year’s organization project waiting for me in January.
